Trauma Therapy in Denver

An evidence-based + attachment-focused approach to trauma treatment

Your past doesn’t have to control your present anymore.

The pain from our past often keeps us from being fully present. Maybe there’s an event or relationship from your story that jumps to the front of your mind when you hear the word ‘trauma’— perhaps you’ve experienced significant abuse or betrayal by someone you once trusted. Or, the continuous moments of being ridiculed or ignored have added up to impact your view of yourself. Maybe you’ve had a physical experience, such as being in a car accident, that has left you feeling hypervigilant and anxious. Perhaps recurring experiences of racism, homophobia or the patriarchy have left you deeply wounded and unsure of how to trust this world and the people in it.

If you’re having an emotional response to a painful event (or events) that feels like too much to bear, you could benefit from trauma therapy.

You notice the impact of trauma in every facet of your life…

  • You feel unsafe in your relationships and constantly worry that others will hurt or abandon you

  • You often find yourself in a state of fight, flight, or shut down

  • You feel disconnected from the most authentic and true version of yourself

You’re ready for a change.

It may feel impossible now, but you can learn to trust yourself and others. You can feel safe in your body and in this world. And we can help you get there.

We’ll help you:

  • We’ll teach you the neurobiology behind your flight, fight, and freeze responses and help you learn to track your own nervous system states. Together, we’ll create resources and teach you coping skills to move out of a survival response and into a place of safe connection.

  • We use inner child work to help you get in touch with the parts of you that are holding your pain. Together, we will offer compassion, nurturance, and protection to the parts of you who always deserved to be deeply loved.

  • Once we create a set of resources to help keep you feeling connected, regulated, and empowered, we will dive into the work of trauma healing together. We’re trained in modalities such as EMDR, Brainspotting, AEDP, and somatic therapy so that we can help you heal on a deep level.

How we work:

EMDR

A trauma-focused therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to help process distressing memories and core beliefs.

Brainspotting

A mindfulness-based therapy that helps resolve deeply rooted emotional pain by locating specific eye positions.

Somatics

A body-centered approach that integrates physical awareness to help release trauma and promote healing.

“I strongly believe that we are not meant to walk through this life alone, especially when we are faced with some of the most difficult times in our lives.

We all have a story that is unique to us and I want to truly honor your story. Together we can identify patterns in your life and gain a better understanding of what things have shaped you into the person you are today and what things have left you feeling stuck.”

Healing is possible.
